英國獨立電影獎British Independent Film Award(BIFA)發表了提名名單, 頗期待的《Control》有最佳電影、導演、劇本、男主角、新演員、兩位男女配角等10項提名。
提名最佳獨立電影的還有剛於英國電影節放映(我miss了)的《Hallam Foe 偷窺者哈藍》, 在港direct to vcd的《Notes on a Scandal 醜聞筆記》, David Cronenberg繼《The End of Violence》後、在英美絕讚上映中的新作《Eastern Promises》, 及父子情絕症片《And When Did You Last See Your Father?》。
提名外國獨立電影獎的五套中看過三部, 《Black Book 黑色名冊》、《La Vie en Rose 粉紅色的一生》及《The Lives of Others 竊聽者》...... 《Once》在美國暑假前已上映, 很好口碑的一部愛爾蘭Musical; 《Tell No One》是比利時製作, 奇情的成年人愛情故事。
《Control》的雙料提名男主角Sam Riley, 演繹Joy Division的主音Ian Curtis也是極度受讚賞, 有部份Oscar Experts估計他最少會有金球獎最佳男主角(喜劇或音樂劇)的提名。
其餘有名氣的提名演員還包括, 國寶級的Judi Dench, Cate Blanchett, Jim Broadbent, Jamie Bell, Anne Hathaway, Viggo Mortensen, Cillian Murphy, Colin Firth, Armin Muehler Stahl, Samantha Morton......
